DhammaDigital is a group of young Buddhist Monks and Nuns, including Dhamma devotees, who are eager to contribute in propagation of Buddha’s teaching in Buddha’s Land, Nepal. As a matter of fact, History of Buddhism in Nepal is as old as the Buddha himself. But later, it disappeared from this country and after the revival of the Buddhism in the last century, Buddhism has spread all over the country rapidly. Nepalese Buddhist Literature made huge contribution towards the propagation. Most importantly, availability of Buddhist literature in various native languages like Nepali, Nepal Bhasa, Tamang, Magar, Tharu, Gurung and so on played an important role in the propagation of Buddha’s Teachings
Although, Nepalese Buddhist literature has made huge mile stones to where we stand today, it has not yet been able to reach the new generation of Nepal due to poor record. Many Manuscripts, Books, Canons, Art, Architectures have been lost or forgotten. This is exactly why, we have been motivated to do something about it. First of all we would like to protect the significant Nepalese Buddhist Literature, especially the Theravada ones through Digitization. Our aim is to digitize Nepalese Authors’ literary works and books written in various languages of Nepal. We plan to provide free access to all through Internet all over the World for Buddhist Knowledge, General Knowledge, and Research on Buddhism and translated Canons. Thus, we’d like to protect and propagate Nepalese Buddhist Literature through Printing, Reprinting and Distributing the rare Nepalese Buddhist literature.
